Key Laboratory of Marine Technology and Control Engineering Ministry of Communications was established in Nov.1999, and was one of the first 17 key laboratories of the Ministry of Communications. The key laboratory has an energetic research team of 22 permanent members, which includes 9 professors, 7 associate professors and 2 senior engineers. Professor Wei Gu is the director of the laboratory.
The key laboratory has three experiment platforms which provide the experimental and scientific research conditions for carrying out scientific research projects, resolving marine technical issues and personnel cultivation in communication field.
The key laboratory has carried out more than 100 scientific research projects for nation, Ministry of Communications, Shanghai Municipality and marine institutions and enterprises, and has won a number of national and ministerial awards. The key laboratory has more than 100 patents authorized, and it has published more than 200 papers in home and abroad journals.
The key laboratory pays much attention to transform the research achievements into productivities and strengthens the cooperation of research, education and production with domestic large-scale backbone enterprises of communications.
Under the leadership of Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and with the support of Shanghai Maritime University, Key Laboratory of Marine Technology and Control Engineering Ministry of Communications is becoming the important base for technical innovation and service of communications.
