Application Guide for the Pre-admission Letter (Chinese Government Scholarship Category A)

1. Application conditions

Applicants who apply for Chinese government scholarship Category A from Chinese embassies and consulates abroad or the scholarship recommendation/management agency of the project only.

Note:

• The application time for Chinese government scholarship Category A is subject to the notice of the Chinese embassies or consulates abroad or the scholarship recommendation/management agency of the project;

• Applicants who apply directly to Shanghai Maritime University for the Chinese government scholarship category B DON’T NEED to apply for this pre-admission notice. 

2. Application method

1. Apply through Shanghai Maritime University application portal first: https://gjy.shmtu.edu.cn/login. 

2.  Send the email with the subject of SMU Pre-admission letter + application number generated by SMU application portal  to smuiec_iso@shmtu.edu.cn.

3. After the review is completed, SMU will send an electronic version of the pre-admission letter to the applicant's email address in two weeks.
