On March 27, Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee, Chief Emeritus of the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences of the University of New Haven and Dr. Ronald Harichandran, Dean of the Tagliatela College of Engineering visited SMU. Prof. Yu Shicheng, Chairman of SMU University Council, Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU and leaders of relevant departments met with the guests.
Prof. Yu Shicheng delivered a welcome speech. He introduced to the guests the specific features of school-running of SMU. He hoped that the two universities could expand the range of their communication and cooperation on the basis of implementing the existing cooperative program between the Logistics Engineering College of SMU and the Tagliatela Engineering College of the University of New Haven.
Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee expressed that he is confident that the two sides could deepen their cooperation in the future, and he would vigorously promote the communication and cooperation between the two sides.
The two sides also signed an agreement of 2+2 Cooperative Education Project for students majoring in Industrial Engineering. The SMU would invite professors of the University of New Haven to give lessons at SMU and send teachers to the University of New Haven as visiting scholars to receive training. The two sides also had an in-depth discussion on expanding their cooperative program to cover undergraduates majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering and graduate students.
After the meeting, the guests also paid a visit to the Refrigerated Container Integrated Lab, the Marine Engine Simulator and the library of SMU.
