On December 18,
the MTCC-Asia Cambodia Branch Office was formally established in Phnom Penh,
the capital of Cambodia. It became the first sub-center of IMO's global
maritime technical cooperation system. Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works
and Transport of Cambodia; LengThunYuthea and EangVengsun, Deputy Secretaries
of State and more than 40 representatives from maritime authorities of Cambodia,
Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, India, Indonesia, China and other countries
attended the event. Mr. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU
Council and Chairman of the MTCC-Asia, attended the ceremony and unveiled Cambodian
of this branch office has drawn wide attention from the Cambodian society and media.

to December 22, MTCC-Asia organized its first five-day technical seminar and
training courses for trainers on the field of ship energy efficiency in Phnom
The construction and operation of the MTCC-Asia Branch Office will benefit SMU in better serving construction projects with relevance to One Belt One Road Initiative . At the same time, it will set up a technological exchange platform for maritime countries in Southeast Asian, promote the development of green shipping in Cambodia and neighboring countries, boost the promotion and application of advanced maritime technology and nurture talents.
