SMU Invited to Attend the Third China-Japan-Korea Ministerial Meeting on Transport and Logistics

On May 13th, hosted by the Ministry of Transport of China and Transport Department of Sichuan Province, the Third China-Japan-Korea Ministerial Meeting on Transport and Logistics was held in Chengdu, Sichuan. Delegations from three countries headed respectively by Mr. Li Shenglin, Minister for Transport of China, Chung Jong Hwan, Minister of the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs of Korea and Mikazuki Taizou, Paliamentary Vice Minister for Transport, Tourism and International Affairs of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.  Minister Li Shenglin hosted the conference.

Prof. Huang Youfang, Vice President of SMU attended the third China-Japan-Korea Ministerial Conference on Transport and Logistics and the third China-Japan-Korea Director Generals Meeting on Transport and Logistics. He exchanged views with experts from three countries on the establishment of seamless logistics system and development of environment-friendly logistics. Ms. Yu Hongrong from SMU Foreign Affairs Office and Mr. Yang Bin from Scientific Research Institute of SMU also attended the conference.

The Ministerial Conference was started in 2006 when China, Japan and South Korea determined to launch 12 action plans in fields of transport, logistics and cooperate to establish a secure, efficient and environment-friendly logistics system.

SMU, as the only university representative in China, joins in 4 out of the 12 action plans, and has accomplished the assigned task up to now.
