On May 19th, the 2nd SMU International Day was grandly unveiled in Lingang New Campus. Prof. Yu Shicheng, President of SMU and Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU attended the activity, together with the participation of over 160 international students from over 30 countries, as well as crowds of Chinese students and faulty members.
Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU gave an ebullient speech. He said, with the theme of the International Day- Better Communication, Better Expo, the grand activity is just like a small World Expo. SMU hoped to promote the communication and exchange among international students, and between Chinese students and international students, and push forward the international culture in SMU through the platform.
The festival fell into two parts: international students’ talent show and exhibition of various national cultures. On the exhibition stands of all counties, the foreign students presented their ethnic customs and cultural traditions with cuisine and costume show, picture display and DVD demonstration. The dense exotic characteristics attracted many Chinese students to taste and experience, which aroused heated interaction and communication in the whole campus.
