Mr. Gu Weiguo, Mr.Li Guoxiang, Ms. Xie Jieying, and Mr. Li Jingming, teachers from SMU Merchant Marine College were selected and designated by China Polar Research Institute to fulfill navigation task onboard Chinese polar scientific research ship Xuelong, who has started the journey to the Arctic since 1 July 2010. This marks China's fourth expedition to the Arctic, following the previous ones in 1999, 2003, and 2008.
