On September 3, Prof. Zhou Zhaoren, President of Taiwan Kaohsiung Marine University and his colleagues visited SMU. President Yu Shicheng and relevant department heads met with the guests cordially.
President Yu extended his warm welcome to President Zhou. He briefly introduced to our guests the history, academic development, and student management, as well as challenges for running a maritime university. He hoped to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Kaohsiung Marine University in the future and to jointly cope with the new changes of world shipping technology. President Zhou Zhaoren spoke highly of the construction and development of our university. He proposed his intention to cooperate in exchanges of students and teachers. He also invited SMU teachers to participate in the Cross-strait Shipping and Fisheries Seminar held in Kaohsiung next year.
