On September 15, The Fifth Report Meeting of 2010 China Maritime Day Culture Forum, co-organized by Office of China Maritime Day, Chinese Society of Oceanography, China Pacific Institute, Shanghai Oriental Rostrum and Shanghai Maritime University, was hosted in SMU.
Prof. Yang Yi from China National Defense University professor, Rear Admiral, and military strategy expert, delivered a report titled From the Perspective of National Maritime Security - Chinese Maritime Security Issues and National Offshore Interests. In and out the recently frequent joint military exercises, Professor Yang Yi concluded China's maritime security challenges and analyzed conflicts and obstacles China has been faced. From the perspective of shaping China's maritime security environment, he explained the importance of Chinese practical meaning of National Blue Ocean Strategy.
After that, Prof. Yang Yi had friendly dialogues with SMU students.
