On the afternoon of March 27, Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee, the world-renowned forensic scientist delivered a lecture entitled Sharing Life Experience—A Discussion on World-known Cases at SMU. Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU and leaders of relevant departments and offices attended the lecture. The lecture attracted thousands of teachers and students from SMU.
Before the lecture, there was a ceremony of bestowing upon Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee the title of Honorary Professor of SMU. Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU conferred the letter of appointment and the school badge of SMU to Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee.
In his lecture, Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee showed many precious pictures he had taken during the investigations at the criminal spot over the years, and shared his experiences in handling the unsettled cases with the audience. He also encouraged the students to embrace dreams, saying that “No Dream, No Future”. At last, he answered questions from the audience enthusiastically.
Lee is currently the Chief Emeritus for Scientific Services of the State of Connecticut and an occasional lecture professor of forensic science at the University of New Haven, where he has helped to set up the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science. He is also a visiting professor at the East China University of Political Science and Law. He served as the Connecticut's Commissioner of Public Safety, and the Director of the Connecticut State Police Forensic Science Laboratory.
