On the afternoon of April 18, the opening ceremony of the Asian Cruise Academy of SMU was co-hosted by SMU, the Seatrade Communications Ltd. and the Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd at the North Bund, which symbolized the establishment of a first academy for cruise ship management in Asia.
In the opening ceremony, leaders from SMU, the Seatrade Communications Ltd and the Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd signed the cooperative agreement and announced the opening of the Asian Cruise Academy of SMU together. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Xiao Baojia, Vice President of SMU.
The Asian Cruise Academy of SMU is committed to the cultivation of talents for the cruise industry in China and Asia in the aspects of Cruise Construction, Cruise Shipbuilding Trading, Cruise Company Management, Cruise Shipping Management, Cruise Hotel Management, Cruise Product Marketing, Cruise Port Management, Cruise Financing as well as Cruise Insurance.
The academy mainly focuses on the curricula of EMBA and MBA and will have a cruise-oriented bachelor degree program. The academy will also have short-term training lessons in order to meet the market’s demands. Courses include Cruise Economy and Policy Regulations, Establishment and Management of Cruise Enterprises, Cruise Marketing and Cruise Shipping Management, etc.
