On April 19, the 2012 SMU-NORDEN Workshop was successfully held in SMU. Prof. Yu Shicheng, Chairman of SMU University Council, Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU, Mr. Peter Borup, Group Senior Vice President, NORDEN Asia, and Mr. Felix Ng, Director & Chief Representative of NORDEN Shipping (Shanghai) attended the workshop.
Mr. Peter Borup gave a lecture—TRENDS IN DRY CARGO SHIPPING to the students present. Following the lecture, 40 sophomores were divided into four groups and had separate discussions with four representatives of NORDEN. Afterwards, 8 of them were granted by Mr. Peter Borup and Prof. Yu Shicheng certificates and bonuses for their excellent performances.
In the last 8 years, the annual NORDEN workshop has played a positive role in helping SMU students obtain a better understanding of the shipping market.
