On May 15, Prof Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU met Mr. Erik Andreassen, Principal of the Copenhagen Marine Engineer College and Electrical Installation Engineer College. Mr. Erik Andreassen came to SMU to attend the opening ceremony of the 2nd Danish Class for Duty and Safety of Marine Engineer.
Prof Jin Yongxing extended his warm welcome to the guests. He briefed on the latest developments of SMU in fields of international communication, teaching and academic training. He pointed out that since Mr. Erik Andreassen’s first visit to SMU in 2010, the exchange program between the two parties had been carried out very smoothly due to the concerted efforts of both sides. He hoped that the two sides could expand their cooperation in other fields on the basis of the existing cooperation program.
Mr. Erik Andreassen expressed his gratitude to SMU for its strong support to the Danish Class and the hard work of the teaching staff. He looked forward to seeing the 20 students from SMU in Copenhagen this summer.
The Copenhagen Marine Engineer College and Electrical Installation Engineer College is one of the directly affiliated colleges under the Danish Maritime Authority. SMU undertook the Danish Class last year, when 23 students from the Copenhagen Marine Engineer College and Electrical Installation Engineer College came to study at SMU. The immediate class this year includes 48 students from Denmark. And 20 students form the Merchant Marine College of SMU will go to Copenhagen for studying this summer.
