On the afternoon of June 9, Prof. Kannan, Research Scientist at Wadsworth Centre, New York State Department of Health and Yi-Fan Li, Senior Research Scientist of the International Joint Research Center of POPs paid a visit to SMU. Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU and Mr. Wang Haiwei, Assistant to the President of SMU met with the guests.
Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU introduced to the guests the scientific research and international exchanges of SMU. He hoped that Prof. Kannan could make further cooperation with SMU Research Center of POPs. The two sides had an in-depth discussion on the cooperation fields such as scientific research and the teachers’ further education.
During the visit, Prof. Kannan and Prof. Yi-Fan Li separately delivered academic reports entitled Perfluorochemicals in the global environment with a focus on distribution in coastal and oceanic environment and PCB in abiota and biota media across China: Distribution pattern and fractionation effect. The guests also paid a visit to the SMU Research Center of POPs at the Ocean Environmental and Engineering College and had a discussion with the teachers from the Ocean Environmental and Engineering College of SMU.
