On November 2nd, Mr. Zhang Qingfeng, President of National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), Mr. Li Xuanshi, Vice President of NTOU as well as other 5 guests paid a visit to SMU. Prof. Yu Shicheng, Chairman of SMU University Council, Prof. Yang Wanfeng, Vice President of SMU and leaders of relevant colleges and departments gave the guests a warm reception.
Prof. Yu Shicheng, Chairman of SMU University Council introduced to the guests the latest developments of SMU. He expressed that both SMU and NTOU were significant training bases for educating maritime professionals. The two sides had carried out several fruitful cooperative projects. Currently 2 students from SMU are studying in NTOU as exchange students. He hoped the guests could deepen their understanding about SMU and expand the cooperation between the two sides by this visit.
Mr. Zhang Qingfeng, President of NTOU gave a brief introduction to the 60-year history and status quo of NTOU. He also had asked details of the curriculum structure, teaching administration, and students’ field work of SMU. He hoped that NTOU would strengthen its cooperation with SMU and would spare no effort so as to facilitate the two sides cooperation in broader fields.
During the visit, the guests also visited the COSTAMARE Engine Room Integrated Laboratory, the Marine Simulator Center and the gymnasium.
