8th Ceremony of SMU-NORDEN Scholarship and Award is Held

The 8th SMU—NORDEN Scholarship and Award (“The NORDEN Scholarship” and “The NORDEN Best Educator Award”) Ceremony was held on November 20th, 2012. Mr. Carsten Mortensen, President and CEO of NORDEN Group, Mr. Ejner Bonderup, Vice President of NORDEN Group, Mr.Jakob Bergholdt, Finance Director of NORDEN (Asia-Pacific Area), Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, and Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU attended this ceremony. More than 80 representatives of teachers and students took part in the ceremony.

Mr. Carsten Mortensen and Prof. Huang Youfang together granted the scholarship certificates and bonus to the winners.

NORDEN was founded in 1871, making it one of Denmark's oldest internationally operating shipping companies. NORDEN operates in dry cargo and tankers world widely and has dozens of branches and offices all over the world. The cooperation between NORDEN and SMU has been lasting for several years, which is regarded as a successful model case of university-enterprise cooperation.
