On June 7, Shanghai International Students Dragon Boat Racing Competition was held on Fengxian Campus of the East China University of Science and Technology. This competition was hosted by Shanghai Municipal Education Committee and the Research Institute of Shanghai College International Students, and undertaken by East China University of Science and Technology. International students from 25 universities in Shanghai participated in the race. SMU’s dragon boat team, whose members are international students from African class and students from degree program, won the fourth prize.
The SMU team successfully took the crown in the preliminary contest. In the finals, the SMU team had a heated contest with teams from Fudan University, Tongji University and East China Normal University. At last, East China Normal University won the champion with 52 second 21, 0.15 second faster than the second place, while SMU team won the fourth prize with 52 seconds 67.
