On August 10, Mr. Xu Guoyu, President of AMA (the Association of Marine Affairs Chinese), Mr. Tian Wenguo, Secretary General of AMA, and Mr. Li Peng, Council Member of AMA, companied by Mr. Zhao Dongye, Secretary General of China Institute of Navigation, visited SMU. Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU, and heads of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs and International Education College gave the guests a warm reception.
Prof. Jin Yongxing extended a warm welcome to the guests and briefed the latest development of SMU. He said, “SMU cooperated with universities and research institutes from Taiwan in areas such as maritime education and training, marine culture research, with great achievements being made.” He also expressed his admiration to AMA for its contribution to the cross-straits maritime affairs and expected SMU to enhance the cooperation and exchanges with relevant universities and research institutes in Taiwan with the help of this visit.
Mr. Xu Guoyu thanked Prof. Jin Yongxing for his warm reception, saying that AMA would be very pleased to contribute to building a better platform for the cooperation and exchanges of scholars from both sides of the strait.
After the meeting, companied by Prof. Jin Yongxing, the guests visited Marine Simulator Lab and Engine Room Automation Lab.
