On the evening of December 19, SMU Alumni Association in UK held a gathering party in London. About 30 alumni joined in the party.
Mr. Yang Shicheng, Chairman of SMU Alumni Association in UK welcomed the alumni from all over the UK, and introduced the recent developments and events of the association. Mr. Yang Shicheng shared his work and life experience in UK and shared suggestions about career planning as well. Prof. Liu Shaojia who graduated from Navigation Major of SMU in 1979 and is now teaching in Brunel University, shared his academic research experience, hoping to have more alumni in the shipping field. Prof. Cao Yanchun, Deputy Dean of Law School who was visiting in UK, brought greetings from Alma Mater to alumni.
Other alumni working in the sector of finance and law and those studying in UK also went to the party.
This gathering party aimed to offer a platform for communication to all alumni, helping newcomers to get familiar with the Association and its resources, and to adapt to studying, living and working in UK.
