On May 7th,. Mr. Claude Maillot, Chief Executive of North Asia Zone and China of Bureau Veritas (BV), with another three colleagues paid a visit to SUM. Professor Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU University Council, together with heads of International Office and Merchant Marine College and professor representatives from College of Ocean Environment and Engineering and Scientific Research Academy, met the visitors.
Prof. Jin extended his warm welcome to Mr. Maillot’s another visit to SMU and gave the guests an introduction of SMU. Prof. Jin also expressed his wish that SMU could develop cooperation with Bureau Veritas in training talent and in such research fields as marine material and ship design.
Mr. Maillot said that he was glad to visit SMU again and eager for exchanges and cooperation with SMU in training talent and scientific researches. Accordingly, Mr. Maillot put forward specific cooperation intentions.
Both parties exchanged ideas on latest ship development and related advanced technologies. During the visit, Mr. Maillot visited teaching facilities of SMU such as the Maritime Simulation Center and the Engine Room Integrated Laboratory.
