On May 13th , SMU held a grand Opening Ceremony of the 7th International Day, which attracted over 200 overseas students of more than 30 countries and regions to celebrate this traditional festival of SMU.
The 7th International Day, themed on dressing styles of people from different countries, consisted of 2 parts. One was an exotic show and the other was students’ art performances. During the exotic show, overseas students set up pavilions to display their national costume, traditional artifacts, nation-featured food and so on, which caught the eyes of many Chinese faculty and students. And during the art performances, passionate songs and dance from African students, live calligraphy from Japanese and Korean students and the drama played by overseas undergraduates, won thunderous applause. The atmosphere there is happy and warm.
