On May 22nd, David Coslett, Interim Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Plymouth University, together with Peter Ingram, Head of International Academic Partnerships and Jingjing Xu, Professor of Plymouth University paid a visit to SMU. Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, and heads of relevant departments and colleges met with the visitors.
Both parties reviewed the joint summer programs and dual degree programs for undergraduates. In addition, the two sides expressed their desire for strengthening the cooperation in related fields.
Afterwards, the guests held a meeting with the undergraduates of SMU who have applied for the “3+1” program of Plymouth University, and answered their questions concerning study and life in Britain.
During the visit, the guests also visited the Maritime Simulation Center, library, gymnasium and so on.
SMU signed a memorandum of cooperation with Plymouth University in 2009. In recent years, both parties have conducted effective cooperation in such fields as joint training, student exchanges, faculty exchanges and research exchanges.
