On the morning of August 22, Graduation Ceremony of 10th MSc Project in International Transport and Logistics, co-held by SMU and World Maritime University (WMU), was aired at Shanghai Renaissance Pudong Hotel. Present at the ceremony were Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, President of and Prof. Ma Shuo, Vice-President of WMU, Prof. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU University Council, Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, heads and lecturer representatives from 21 Century Silk Road Research Institute, International Education College, International Office and Graduate School of SMU.
Prof. Huang Youfang and President Doumbia-Henry gave their own speeches respectively. Both of them first congratulated to the students and then spoke highly of the plentiful fruits gained by the MSc Project in International Transport and Logistics in the last 10 years. Finally, they showed that on the basis of the present project, SMU and WMU would strengthen cooperation in the fields of maritime education, scientific research and so on.
There were 26 graduates in total in the project of 2015. Among the 26 graduates, international students Amit Sanwal from India was awarded as Excellent Graduate. Xu Jie, Tang Xiaye and Amit Sanwal’s dissertations were awarded as Excellent Dissertation. And Zheng Yijun won the 2015 Scholarship of the Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL). And until August 22, more 90% of the graduated have landed their jobs.
The MSc Project in International Transport and Logistics started in the year of 2004. Since its foundation, the project has cultivated over 300 top experts in the field of international transport and logistics. Except for Chinese students, the project has attracted international students from German, Greece, Turkey, America, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Thailand,Korea and other countries and regions.
