World Shipping Summit 2015 opened in Guangzhou city, on Nov, 5th. Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU attended the summit and gave a speech, themed on Strategic Thinking of Shipping & Supply Chain.
At the summit, Prof. Huang Youfang had a friendly communication with and gave an introduction of SMU to Mr. Ma Zehua, Chairman of the Board and Secretary of Party Committee of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, Mr. Chen Jianhua, Mayor of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, Mr. Chang Min, Director General of Guangzhou Port Authority and leading shipping lines and institutes from home and abroad, including China Shipping Line, Sinotrans Shipping, China Merchants Group, China National Chartering Corporation.
During the summit, Prof. Huang Youfang met SMU graduates, like Mr. Cai Zhaolin, Deputy Major of GuangZhou city.
Over 50 guests delivered themed speeches, including Zheng Xinli, a famous economist and Vice Chairman of China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchange, Mr. Ma Zehua, Chairman of the Board and Secretary of the Party Committee of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, Mr. Su Xingang, the Vice President cum Chief Economist of China Merchants Group, Mr. Phinij Jarusombat, former vice-premier of Thailand and currently the president of Thailand-China Cultural & Economic Society, Richard A. Lidinsky, former Chairman of the US Federal Maritime Commission, Marios Maratheftis, Chief Economist of Standard Chartered, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping and Chris Jones, Director of the Baltic Exchange Asia Pacific Speakers.
