2015 SISI-KMI International Shipping Forum Held in Shanghai

    2015 SISI-KMI International Maritime Forum- Prospect of 2016 World Shipping Industry & Hotspots regarding Sino-Korea Ports, co-hosted by Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) and Korean Maritime Institute (KMI) was held in Shanghai on November 26th, 2015.

    This forum made a professional analysis of the international dry bulk shipping industry and the international container shipping industry. And after the discussion of the trend of Asian cruise industry, a Sino-Korea cooperative plan was proposed. After a full understanding of “One Belt and One Road” strategy and Sino-Korea port development strategy, the forum analyzed the status quo and future for pollution control over China’s vessels and ports.

    At the opening ceremony, Mr. Kim Sung-gwi, President of KMI, Prof. Yu Shicheng, Chairman of SMU University Council & Director of SISI, Han Hee-seok, Consul- General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai and Mr. Zhang Lin, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, respectively delivered speeches.

    This forum continued to combine the form of keynote speech and discussion. Dr. Binzsu Kao from KMI, SMU Prof. Zhang Jieshu, Deputy Secretary General of SISI, Huang Zhinhsu, Head of Shipping Policy Research Office from KMI, Zhao Nan, Head of SISI Port Research Office and Assistant of SISI Secretary General and Prof. Li Yu, from SMU College of Transport & Communications gave themed speeches in their own fields.

    Presided by SMU Prof. Zhen Hong, Secretary General of SISI, Li Gang, Deputy Secretary General of SISI, Xu Juehui, Vice-general Manager of Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal Development Co.,Ltd, Yoohu Kim, Head of KMI Shipping and Maritime Research Office, Jong-Deog Kim, Head of KMI Shipping Market Analysis Center and Johnbii Lee, Head of KMI Policy Research Office exchanged ideas with speakers and audience.
