On May 12, 2016 SMU-Norden workshop was successfully held at SMU. Present at the workshop were over 50 attendees, including Mr. Jakob Bergholdt, Vice President of NORDEN and CEO of NORDEN (Singapore), Prof. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU University Council, Heads of SMU International Office and representatives of students and teachers.
During the workshop, Mr. Jakob Bergholdt delivered a speech themed on “Managing Volatility in Dry Bulk Shipping Markets—— Know Your Risks”.
And then, five Norden representatives and 40 students from SMU had group discussions, in which 10 students were selected as workshop winners. Afterwards, Mr. Yu Hongrong, Head of SMU International Office, together with Mr. Jakob Bergholdt, issued certificates and scholarships to the winners.
It has been the 11th year that SMU and NORDEN had co-organized workshop. And the workshop has played an important role in helping SMU students better understand shipping market.
