On 8th November, “One Belt One Road” executive management program for shipping industry talents was held at SMU. More than 20 students from countries like Denmark, Germany, Greece, Kampuchea, Sri Lanka, Singapore, India, South Africa, and Indonesia attended this training program. Mr. Chang Lin, Vice Director of Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, Prof. Shi Xin, Vice President of SMU and related Heads of SMU and Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration took part in the opening ceremony.
First of all, Prof. Shi Xin delivered his welcome speech, saying that as a domestic well-known shipping university, SMU has a long time maritime teaching history. SMU would like to enhance international communication among maritime countries on shipping technology, management and culture, helping the implement of “One Belt One Road” through this training program.
Mr.Chang Lin said that Shanghai got a fruitful result by promoting further reform and opening up in shipping field with all efforts during “the twelfth five-year-planning”. While, the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Service Center in “the thirteenth 5-year-planning” will focus on developing modern shipping service industry and improving shipping soft power; at the same time, it’ll catch the opportunity of national strategy like “One Belt One Road” and the economic belt along Yangtze River to accelerate the development of international shipping center which has stronger economic service and radiation ability.
This “One Belt One Road” executive management program for shipping industry talents was helpful to the “One Belt One Road” maritime countries, especially advanced managers in shipping industries.
