Professor Jin Yongxing Attended the Opening Ceremony of Exchange Programme on Oil Spill Response between ASEAN and China

The exchange programme on oil spill response between ASEAN and China was successfully held in Shanghai, November 28 – December 1. More than 30 attendees concerning maritime system from China, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Burma, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia took part in it. Mr. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU University Council, and Mr. Chang Fuzhi, Deputy Director of Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration, participated the opening ceremony.

 

Prof. Jin Yongxing, on behalf of SMU, delivered a welcoming speech. He said that Shanghai Maritime University, as one of the vital member of Chinese maritime education and training, enjoying the geographic advantage of Shanghai cosmopolis and international shipping center, attached much importance to the international maritime affairs and obtained much useful experience. He hoped that every trainee could fully exchange their knowledge and build up friendship so as to make more co-operations and programmes of high quality in the future. 

 

According to Mr. Chang Fuzhi, this exchange programme aimed at enhancing the implement of international maritime affairs, strengthening the cooperation and exchanges concerning regional oil spill emergency response in order to win the mutual understanding and development; he looked forward that trainees could gain from learning.

The exchange programme on oil spill response between ASEAN and China was hosted by International Maritime Organization and Maritime Safety Administration of the People’s Republic of China and undertaken jointly by Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration and Shanghai Maritime University.
