In the afternoon of 9th December, Mr. Wang Jun, Director of International Initiatives from University of California, Riverside (UCR), visited SMU. Relevant people of Logistics Engineering College, College of Information Engineering, College of Ocean Science and Engineering, took part in the meeting.
Above all, Mr. Wang Jun briefed the attendees on the overview of the UCR including University Ranking, Geographical Advantage, Fundamental Equipment, Student Employment and etc. He stressed on the 3+1+ (MD-PhD) Program of Bourns College of Engineering of UCR, including its operation pattern, advantages, the number of enrollment, students’ feedback. Then, those who were in charge of international affairs of SMU, like Prof. Xu Xiaoyan, Vice Dean of Logistics Engineering College, Prof. Zhou Rigui, Vice Dean of College of Information Engineering, Prof. Fan Yanhua, Vice Dean of College of Ocean Science and Engineering, had a deep discussion with Mr. Wang Jun on Cooperation Form, Enrollment Condition, Program Expenses, Major Docking. Both party achieved an original willing to the further collaboration.
University of California Riverside, as the one of ten UC’s Branches, was set up in 1954. In January 2015, the Provost of UCR paid a visit to SMU and signed the exchange agreement with SMU. Relevant majors from School of Economics & Management and College of Transport &Communications started the professional docking and conducted the joint program like 3+1/3+1+1.
