The 6th International Symposium on Mechanics of Slender Structures, Moss 2016 was held at SMU, 19-20 December 2016. Scholars from the University of Maryland, University of Sussex, Delft University of Technology, Sophia University (Japan), Shanghai Jiaotong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Research Center of Mitsubishi Electric (Japan), Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU & Honorary President of the Symposium, Prof. Yan Wei, Vice President of SMU took part in it.
Prof. Huang Youfang, on behalf of SMU, delivered the opening speech and welcomed all the attendees from all over the world. He looked forward to more academic exchanges, advanced discussions on the structures of large-sized mechanical equipment, cooperation on discipline construction and scientific research by the advantage of this platform as well as furthering the level of SMU scientific and academic research.
International Symposium on Mechanics of Slender Structures has gone through 10 years and been held 6 times, it achieved great success with 22 academic reports. The 6th International Symposium on Mechanics of Slender Structures, Moss 2016 was hosted by IOP and SMU, undertaken by Logistics Engineering College of SMU and BIT, and as well as strongly supported by DOM3DLTD.
