On April 5, Mr. Rene LEGALL, Rector of Polytech’s Nantes, together with his delegation, visited SMU. Prof. Yang Wanfeng, Vice President of SMU and Prof. Shi Xin, Vice President of SMU, gave a warm reception to the all guests.
Prof. Yang Wanfeng, Vice President of SMU delivered in his welcoming speech that a number of fruitful results had been achieved since both sides established the friendly cooperative relationship ten years ago. With the increasing exchange of teachers and students, he expressed his hope that the two sides could expand partnership fields and strengthen collaboration with each other.
Mr. Rene LE GALL thanked SMU’s warm reception and hoped that more cooperation can be conducted based on the ten years’ successful exchanges. He also mentioned that students of SMU could have chance to study or do practical learning for one semester in the future. Both sides exchanged ideas and thoughts in the aspects of detailed information for the future cooperation.
The joint training program for SMU and Polytech’s Nantes was started in 2007, which is the first project containing double degree. There are already 50 postgraduates gain the double degree, among which there are 11 excellent students continues Doctoral Degree and 7 have already achieved that degree. The successful implementation of the program not only improves the postgraduate’s education quality of SMU but also boosters the internationalization of its education.
