The 8th International Symposium “Information Fusion and Intelligent Geographical Information Systems 2017” (IF&IGIS’17) was held in SMU.
Prof. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of the Chinese Organizing Committee of the Symposium and Chairman of SMU University Council made an opening speech and extended a warm welcome to the experts of geographical information at home and abroad. He introduced the overview of SMU and the achievements we have made in the field of shipping geographical information.
Professors made reports in the conference, including Prof. Nikolay Kovalevskiy, Director of the Petersburg Information Science and Automation Institute, Prof. Huang Bo, from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prof. George Vouros, from the University of Piraeus and others. The experts and PhDs from China, United States, Canada, France, Germany, Russia, Malaysia, Greece, Hong Kong, and other countries or regions shared their views within their groups.
The participants carried out discussions and researches on the subjects concerning “The Modern Intelligent GIS Tools and Technology Applied in Maritime Environment”, “The Data Modeling in Intelligent Geographical Information Systems” and so on.
The symposium was co-sponsored by SMU and the Petersburg Information Science and Automation Institute.
