On June 10, Accra, Ghana time, the graduation ceremony of the fourth SMU- RMU Joint B.Sc. Degree Program in Logistics Management and the 2017 graduation ceremony of RMU (Regional Maritime University) were held in Accra, Ghana. Wang Haiwei, Vice President of SMU, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
Other guests invited in the ceremony were Mr. Kweku Ofori Asiamah, Minister of Transport of Ghana and Chairman of the current RMU Council, Ms Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, Minister of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development of Ghana, Mr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Vice Minister of Education of Ghana, as well as Minister of Transport of Sierra Leone, Minister of Transport of Gambia, Acting Director of Maritime Administration of Liberia and other relevant heads.
Wang Haiwei, Vice President of SMU conveyed his congratulations to the graduates of the Fourth SMU-RMU Joint B.Sc. Degree Program in Logistics Management, and expressed his appreciation to the hardworking teachers. Wang Haiwei hoped that the graduates could develop lifelong learning habits after graduation, work and study positively and optimistically in the future.
These graduates were issued B.Sc. Degree and diplomas conferred by SMU, and gained Bachelor’s Degree of RMU.
During Wang’s visit to Ghana, he was also invited to attend the 18th Council of RMU. He talked with Elvis Nyarko, President of RMU, as well as other relevant persons to evaluate the cooperation projects and discuss the new cooperation projects between the two parties.
The Best Student of this program, Asante Asantewaa Priscilla from Ghana, was selected as the only 2017 Best Graduate of RMU. At the same time, he received 4 scholarships in RMU, which showed the high teaching quality between SMU and RMU. Michael Dzikunu, who graduated from SMU, won the only "Best Teacher" award of RMU in 2017.
