On the afternoon of October 27, Mr Huang Youfang, President of SMU met withMr Ahmad Saadi, Senior Vice President of Saudi Aramco. Both sides signed amemorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation at Shanghai PudongShangri-La Hotel.
Mr. Huang Youfang introduced the overview of SMU, emphasizing the distinguishingcharacteristics of SMU in shipping, logistics, marine and other areas. He pointedout that our university had strong research ability in shipping, internationallogistics, supply chain and strong ability in cultivation of high-quality talents,which highly correspond to the current development strategy of Saudi Aramco.Mr. Huang said that Saudi Aramco was the first Saudi Arabia company to establish a formal partnership withSMU, which is a landmark for SMU.
Mr. Ahmad Saadi spoke highly of the development achievements of ouruniversity. He said that China was Saudi Arabia's important trading partner, andSaudi Aramco always attached great importance to the cooperation with Chineseenterprises and universities. He hoped to promote bilateral cooperation ininternational procurement, international logistics and other areas.
Saudi Aramco is the world's largest oil production company and the world'ssixth largest oil refiner. With the world's largest onshore and offshore oilfields, it mainly engaged in oil exploration, development, production, refining,transportation and sales.
