The Director of International Admissions from Old Dominion University (ODU) Visited SMU

On the morning of November 15th, Mr. Steven M. Risch, Director of International Admissions of ODU, David H. Silvis, director of English Language Center, and Ms. Cao Chaoping, director of China Office of ODU, visited SMU. Officials from the International Office and the Graduate School of SMU participated in this meeting.

 

During the meeting, the two sides summarized the project of graduate students' cooperation and exchange, which has been conducted for one semester, and had earnest communication on the issue of renewing the agreement of the project. Meanwhile, both sides actively explored the feasibility of the summer exchange project and undergraduate cooperation exchange project, hoping to increase cooperation and to further expand the scope of project cooperation. The two sides have an in-depth communication on the cooperation mode, professional coverage, tuition and admission requirements, laying a good foundation for the follow-up projects.

 

Founded in 1930, ODU has 24 thousand students nowadays. Its predecessor was College of William and Mary, which was the second oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. In 2007, SMU and ODU signed a memorandum of cooperation.
