2017 SMU-NYK Prize Award Ceremony was held at SMU on Dec, 6th. Present at the ceremony were Mr. Hiroyasu Takazumi, NYK Line’s Chief Representative for China and Prof. Shi Xin, Vice President of SMU, etc. Mr. Hiroyasu Takazumi and Prof. Shi Xin issued certificates to SMU-NYK winners on the ceremony.
Prof. Shi Xin, in his speech, extended his thanks to NYK Line for its supports to SMU during these years. As a multidisciplinary university featuring shipping, logistics and marine science, SMU takes its close cooperation with the shipping enterprises as the core competitiveness, and provides education according to the demand of the shipping industry. He hoped that all the students could pass on the social responsibilities of NYK and concentrate themselves to the development of shipping industry.
Mr. Hiroyasu Takazumi introduced to students NYK Line’s history and its business scope. He said that NYK has kept a close relationship with SMU for more than a decade, and many outstanding graduates from SMU are working in NYK China. He congratulated the award-winning students and hoped each student could make full use of time at school to pursue their dreams.
After the award ceremony, Mr. Hiroyasu Takazumi conducted interactive exchanges with the award-winning students on the development of the shipping industry and the standards of employment in shipping enterprises.
