Three Projects of SMU has been Approved in the Evaluation of “International Exchange Program for Outstanding Undergraduates” Carried Out by the China Scholarship Council (CSC)

Recently, three projects of SMU has been approved in the evaluation of “International Exchange Program for Outstanding Undergraduates” carried out by CSC. This is the first time that SMU applied for the Program. The three projects are Undergraduate Exchange Project between SMU and BI Norwegian Business School, Undergraduate Exchange Project between SMU and Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and Undergraduate Exchange Project between SMU and Inha University.

After the project approved, eligible students of SMU can apply for a scholarship funded by CSC in accordance with relevant requirements, which will cover a round-trip international travelling expenses and part of the subsistence allowance during the period of study abroad. The funding standards and methods shall be implemented in accordance with relevant state regulations.

The financial assistance, to a certain extent, can further stimulate students' enthusiasm for participating in international exchange programs and help improve the quality of SMU’s overseas exchange learning and internship programs.

The “International Exchange Program for Outstanding Undergraduates” is organized and implemented by the CSC, aiming at further promoting cooperation between high-level universities in China and world-renowned universities and institutions, promoting multicultural exchanges, improving students’ awareness of innovation, practical ability, and international competitiveness and meeting the needs of the country for the training of high-quality international talents in professional and academic fields.

This Program is mainly for the Colleges or Institutions listed in the “985 Project”, “211 Project” and “Key Discipline Projects”, selecting outstanding students from the second grade or above to go to foreign top universities or institutions for 3 to 12 months of course study, graduation design or internships in international organizations, companies and laboratories.
