On March 14th, the delegation headed by Prof. Simon Payne, Vice Chancellor of University of Plymouth, paid a visit to SMU. Prof. Shi Xin, Vice President of SMU, met with the guests. Relevant staffs from the International Office and International Education College also attend the meeting.
Prof. Shi Xin extended a warm welcome to Prof. Simon Payne. He said that the cooperation between SMU and University of Plymouth has been progressing smoothly since 2009. Students from both sides have benefited a lot and responded well. He hoped that in the future, both sides could further expand the scope of cooperation, build a new model for students’ exchanges, enlarge the scale of students’ exchanges and enhance the level of cooperation on the basis of the summer study program and the students’ exchanges program which have been carrying out.
Prof. Simon Payne thanked Prof. Shi Xin and expressed his agreement with the new model proposed by Prof. Shi Xin. The University of Plymouth will vigorously promote the negotiation and implementation of this model.
