On the afternoon ofApril 25th, the Consultation for 2019 Winter Vacation Volunteer Homestay Programin America was successfully held in the teaching area 2B502. There are twosessions of this consultation, which were delivered by Mr. Kong Defeng, the programmanager of the China Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries. The facultiesof the International Office and nearly 30 students from various colleges attendedthe consultation.
At themeeting, the teacher of the International Office briefed the students about thecurrent situation of the internship program in our school and thecharacteristics of the Volunteer Homestay Program. He also explained thescholarship for the program. Next, Mr. Kong explained the details to thestudents on terms of job type, project harvest, program fee and application process. Theatmosphere of the consultation was warm and the students actively askedquestions in the final Q&A interactive session. The two teachers answeredquestions raised by the students one by one.
In theVolunteer Homestay Program, students will stay in the homestay host family in theUnited States in the whole course. The program aims at not only helping studentsimprove their intercultural communication and social service awareness, but alsohelping them improve English communication skills and job skills, obtainoverseas working experience.
