Recently, the joint conferences of the 25th International Maritime Lecturers’ Association Conference（IMLA25）、30th International Maritime English Conference（IMEC30） and 14th International Conference on Engine Room Simulators（ICERS14） were held in Manila and Bataan, Philippines. Being the Honorary Chair of IMLA, Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU Council attended and officiated at the joint conferences.
With the theme “The New Wave of Excellence in Maritime Education and Training”, this joint conferences had attracted 120-odd honored guests across the globe.
On the opening ceremony, Chairman Jin Yongxing welcomed all the participants and encouraged the attendees to exchange their academic achievements, to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by maritime education in this new era, to help IMLA take part in international maritime affairs and make much more contributions to maritime educational field.
It’s the first joint conferences held together by IMLA and its special interest groups, which was aimed at establishing a platform to exchange and communicate for teachers from different backgrounds and fields.
IMLA is a no-border forum dedicated to Maritime Education and Training and it has provided a round table for discussions on sea-related issues. Chairman Jin Yongxing has been the Honorary Chair since 2011.
