On December 10th, the 14th SMU—NORDEN Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held. Mr. Jens F. Jensen, Chief Representative of NORDEN Shipping (Shanghai), Mr. Shi Xin, Vice President of Shanghai Maritime University, all the staff of NORDEN Shipping (Shanghai) and representatives from SMU attended the ceremony.
Mr. Shi Xin delivered a speech and extended his thanks to NORDEN Shipping for its support in the past 14 years. He said the current international shipping industry has developed rapidly, NORDEN Shipping actively seeks measures to deal with challenges like safety, pollution and became the pioneer in the field of green and safe shipping. He is confident about the cooperation with NORDEN Shipping in the field of Maritime Education. Mr. Shi Xin encouraged the award-winning students to continue in-depth study of shipping-related knowledge and prepare themselves well for serving the shipping industry.
Mr. Jens F. Jensen gave a brief introduction of NORDEN Shipping and its business in China. He said that NORDEN has built a solid cooperation relationship with SMU and hoped to consolidate the relationship with SMU in the future. He appreciated the distribution made by SMU in the cultivation of shipping talents and expected more SMU graduates to join Shipping Industry.

NORDEN Scholarship is granted annually to 5 excellent junior students from shipping-related majors for the purpose of encouraging them in study. Aiming to encourage teachers to make greater achievements in teaching and research, NORDEN Best Teacher Award is given annually to 2 teachers chosen by students who are excellent in teaching and research.
