On the morning of August 24, the 14th Graduation Ceremony of the MSc Program in International Transport and Logistics co-founded by SMU and World Maritime University (WMU) was smoothly held. Attendees at the ceremony included Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, Prof. Xin Shi, Vice President of SMU, Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, President of WMU, Ma Shuo, Vice President of WMU, heads from SMU’s International Education College, 21st Century Silk Road Research Institute, Transport and Communications College and International Office, as well as teacher representatives and alumni representatives.
President Huang Youfang and President Dumbia-Henry delivered speeches respectively. They congratulated the graduates on their achievements and affirmed the plentiful fruits gained by ITL Program, and sincerely hoped SMU and WMU would further strengthen cooperation in maritime education and scientific research based on this project.
At the graduation ceremony, Prof. Huang Youfang and Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry issued master degree certificates and diplomas for the graduates. Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry awarded certificates for the best trainees, and the representative of the Institute of International Container Lessors awarded SMU-IICL scholarships for outstanding graduates.
There are 27 graduates at class of 2019 in ITL Master Program, one of whom is from Australia. The ITL Program has by now cultivated over 400 senior professionals for the field of international transportation and logistics, including 40 international students from Ghana, the United States, the Netherlands, South Korea, Malaysia and other countries.
