SMU - Wärtsilä LNG Dual-Fuel Engine Laboratory was Inaugurated

On October 20th, SMU - Wartsila LNG Dual-Fuel Engine Laboratory was inaugurated. Han Jianfeng, President of Wartsila (China) Co., Ltd., Jin Xiaohua, Director of Human Resources, Grant Gassner, General Manager of Wartsila Qi Yao Diesel (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Yang Wanfeng, Vice President of Shanghai Maritime University attended the event.

Mr. Yang Wanfeng gave a brief introduction of SMU’s history. He reviewed the cooperation between SMU & Wartsila and expressed his appreciation to Wartsila for its long-term support to the talent cultivation of SMU. He stressed that, as a long-history institution for China’s higher maritime education, SMU attaches great importance to the cooperation with Wartsila. He hoped that SMU and Wartsila could further deepen the cooperation relationship and get mutual benefits through academic exchanges and collaborative research.

President Han Jianfeng congratulated the 110th Anniversary of SMU and expressed his gratitude to SMU for delivering a large number of professionals to Wartsila. He believes that the laboratory will be an opportunity to further deepen the cooperation and interaction with SMU in more fields.

During the inauguration, Mr. Han Jianfeng was appointed as a visiting professor of SMU.
