On November 11th, 2019 Global Trade andInternational Logistics Summit Forum, which was one of the most importantsupporting forums of China International Import Expo, was held in Shanghai.Song Baoru, Chairman of SMU University Council addressed the forum on behalf of the organizers,and Huang Youfang，President of SMU delivered a keynote speech.
Li Shenglin, Chairmanof the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the National People'sCongress, Hu Yadong, the President of China Communications and TransportationAssociation, and other hundreds of respected officials took part in this forum.
On behalf ofthe co-sponsored organizations, Song Baoru welcomed and thanked all thedistinguished attendees. He introduced the characteristics and achievements of SMU'slogistics discipline, and SMU’s contributions in service to the "One Belt &One Road" initiative, free trade zone construction, and internationaltrade development. SMU hopes to enhance mutual exchanges and cooperation withall participants in this event.
President Huang Youfang delivered a keynote speech under the theme of “NewOpportunities for International Logistics with the Reform of the Free TradeZone". He analyzed the trend of deepening the reform of the free tradezone and the new opportunities for international logistics. At the same time, heillustrated his thoughts on the development of global logistics under the freetrade zone background.

The themes of this forum were “New Opportunities forInternational Logistics” and “Multimodal Transport Promotes the Development ofGlobal Trade”.
