2019 SISI-KMI International Shipping Seminar was held in Shanghai

On December 19th, 2019 SISI-KMI International Shipping Seminar co-organized by Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) and Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) was held in Shanghai. Over 200 guests from shipping companies, maritime universities, shipping organization, financial organization and government attended the meeting.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. CHANG Young-Tae, President of KMI, Mr. YU Shicheng, Director of SISI and Mr. XU Guoyi, Director of Shanghai Combined Ports Administration delivered speeches to congratulate the opening of this seminar. During the seminar, SISI and KMI signed the next 5-year strategic cooperation MOU, which will help both sides further expand the cooperation.

On the first part of the Seminar, experts from KMI and SISI reviewed the 10 years development of Asia economy, trade, dry bulk cargo market and the container market and analyzed the development trend of the maritime market in the future. On the second part of the Seminar, experts from both sides discussed the topics of China Cruise Market Trends and Prospects, the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Big Data in Shipping, the Informationization of the Global Port and Shipping, etc.

As an important carrier of in-depth dialogue between Chinese and Korean shipping think tanks, the SISI-KMI International Maritime Seminar has provided a broader platform for enhanced exchanges and cooperation between the maritime communities of China and South Korea.
