From November 9th to 10th, Professor Lu Jing, President of SMU, visited Royal Caribbean International and V.Ships PRC Operation Shanghai Office.
President Lu Jing expressed his thanks to the alumni for their long-term care and support for SMU. He said that SMU is actively making the "14th Five-Year Plan" and continues to promote the construction of a high-level maritime university with global influence. He hopes to listen to the suggestions of SMU alumni on talent cultivation, programs development, campus culture construction and lecturers’ team building, improving the quality of talent training and making important contributions to the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center and Shanghai Free Trade Zone Lingang New Area.
Dr. Liu Zinan, alumni of SMU majored in shipping management and Chairman of Royal Caribbean Cruises Asia, introduced his study and working experience, as well as the development history of cruises, the current development of cruises in China and epidemic prevention on cruises. He hopes to carry out cooperative research with SMU on cruise engineering projects, senior crew training, law, cruise and terminal design, etc., jointly promoting the development of China's cruise industry.
Mr. Zou Junshan, alumni of SMU majored in shipping finance and accounting and executive general manager of V.Ships Group China introduced the group's development history, business areas and industry development trends. He thanked SMU for its long-term care and support to alumni. He hoped that SMU could continue to give full play to its advantages and characteristics, focus on shipping and logistics, and provide more talents and intellectual support for the high-quality development of the industry.
