2020 SISI-KMI International Maritime Forum was Held

On November 26th, ‘2020 SISI-KMI International Forum – Prospects and Hotspots of Shipping Market in 2021’ was held online. The forum was co-organized by Shanghai Maritime University and Korea Maritime Institute, and hosted by Shanghai International Shipping Institute.

The theme of the forum is Changes of International Environment and Prospects of the Shipping Market. Mr. Gong Jianwei, an analyst from SISI, made a report on the impact of Sino-US trade friction on the shipping industry. Mr. Zhang Yongfeng, Director of the International Shipping Research Department of SISI, made a report themed as Analysis and Prospect of Current China’s Export Container Transport Market Trends. Mr. Huang Shouchen a senior research fellow from KMI delivered a report related to Analysis and Prospect of International Dry Bulk Market.

During the panel discussion, Mr. Zhou Dequan, Director of Shipping Development Institute of SISI, Mr. Xu Kai, Director of Shipping Informatization Research Department of SISI, Mr. Li Haochun, Director of Big Data Research Center of KMI, and Mr. Gao Bingyu, Director of Shipping Policies Research Center of KMI made speeches respectively and analyzed and discussed issues related to international shipping.

As an important carrier of in-depth dialogue between Chinese and Korean shipping think tanks, the SISI-KMI International Maritime Seminar has provided a broader platform for enhanced exchanges and cooperation between the maritime communities of China and South Korea.
