Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (TUMSAT) was established by merging Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine and Tokyo University of Fisheries on October 1, 2003. It plays a significant role in maritime education within Japan, since both pioneering predecessor universities specialized in related fields based upon traditions of over one hundred years.

1. Brief introduction to the program
The target students of the program should be the first year master students at SMU, after being recommended by their own colleges and succeeding in the interview by TUMSAT, those students can continue their study at TUMSAT in the following two years, learning the courses of Navigation Technology, Marine Engineering, Logistics, Marine Environmental Studies, and International Law and so on.
For those who have successfully accomplished their academic courses, they shall be eligible to be awarded Certificates of Master Degree both by SMU and TUMSAT.

2. Fees: Application fee and registration fee are waived;
First year tuition fees are waived;
Part of the second year tuition fees can be waived;
Students can apply for the scholarship of TUMSAT.
