On March 6th, a delegation of five headed by Ir. Ahmad Wahid, the Principle of STIP Jakarta, visited SMU accompanied by Zhao Wei, the Managing Director of SINGHAI MARINE SERVICES (Shanghai)Co.,Ltd. Shi Xin, Vice President of SMU, leaders and teacher representatives from the International Office, the Merchant Marine College, and other relevant departments and college met with the guests.
Shi Xin extended a warm welcome to Ir. Ahmad Wahid and his delegation. He mentioned that over the development of 115 years, SMU has developed into a globally influential maritime campus. Through the platform of the International Maritime Lecturers Association Shanghai Center, SMU aims to promote international exchanges. Shi Xin expressed the hope for future collaborations between the two parties in terms of faculty and student exchanges, academic cooperation, and technological collaboration, to jointly advance higher maritime education.
Ir. Ahmad Wahid presented recent developments and achievements of STIP Jakarta, expressing a desire for more opportunities for cooperation and exchanges in the future. He also expressed a willingness to sign a memorandum of cooperation with SMU.
The discussions between both parties included the accreditation of maritime courses, maritime education and training, and potential collaboration items for a memorandum of cooperation as well.
During the visit, Ir. Ahmad Wahid and his delegation visited the Ship Integrated Automation Engine Room.
