Delegation from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Maritim “AMI” Visits SMU

On January 22, a delegation led by KISWIRU Yudha Ningsih, Vice Chairman of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Maritim "AMI" , visited Shanghai Maritime University. Yin Ming, Vice President of Shanghai Maritime University, met with the guests. Both sides engaged in comprehensive discussions on deepening cooperation in maritime education. Heads of the International Office and the International Education College attended the meeting.

This visit served as a return visit following the delegation led by Cao Rongrui, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Maritime University Council, to Indonesia in November 2025. It aimed to promote the implementation of prior cooperative consensuses and advance practical collaboration between the two institutions in the field of maritime education.

Yin Ming extended a welcome to the delegation. He briefly reviewed the foundation of exchanges between the two institutions, pointing out the profound basis for cooperation between China and Indonesia in the shipping sector. Shanghai Maritime University attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Maritim "AMI" and hopes both sides can achieve more results in areas such as talent cultivation, faculty exchanges, and crew training, jointly serving the Belt and Road Initiative and fostering high-quality maritime professionals.

KISWIRU Yudha Ningsih expressed gratitude for the hospitality received and spoke highly of Shanghai Maritime University's educational strength and international influence. She also provided an overview of the development of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Maritim "AMI". She expressed willingness to further deepen cooperation between the two institutions to jointly promote the development of maritime education.

During the visit, the delegation also toured SMU's history museum and navigation simulator.

These reciprocal visits have established a cooperative platform for the two institutions, further solidifying the foundation for Sino-Indonesian maritime education exchanges. Both universities will continue to deepen cooperation to jointly promote the enhancement of quality, efficiency, and high-quality development in the cultivation of shipping industry talents.
